COVINGTON — Richard Alson Cox, 80, formerly of Covington and had been residing in Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman, Ill., died there at noon Wednesday, May 31, 2006. He was born Oct. 26, 1925 in Covington, the son of Otha Esten and Ida (Nolen) Cox. He married Christiane Gross Oct. 24, 1948 in Erlangen, Germany. She preceded in death July 19, 2000. He graduated from Gary High School in 1944. He formerly worked for Lakeland Burris Motor in Florida. Prior to that he was a supervisor for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Survivors include: two daughters, Ivadene (Roger) Bowman, Fremont, Neb. and Ivonne William) Cowley, Arlington, Texas; two grandsons, Sean (Cheryl) Bolton, Jacksonville, Ill. and Mark (Laura) Bosman, Plainfield; and two great-grandchildren, Zachery Bolton and Samantha Clardy. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Russell, Ronald, Gordon and Nicholas. A military gravesite service was at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman, Ill. – jlr
